Bear Hunting

Northern New Mexico has a large and growing bear population due to the abundance of habitat. With the growing number of bears New Mexico has increased the length of the season to help control the population. The season runs from mid August through November 1 each year.

If you are looking for an exciting hunt experience, this hunt will meet your expectations. You will traverse scenic and sometimes difficult terrain following the hounds in pursuit of that big bruin. Fall in New Mexico is typically mild with cool mornings and sunny days, however at higher elevations in mid October mother nature can blanket the mountains with snow, so come prepared for diverse conditions.
